Assistant Store Manager

Job Overview:

Each day will be filled with challenging and exciting work where every day is different. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will assist the Store Manager in running in the store. This means hiring, training, motivating, and supervising your team. Part of your responsibilities are helping the store meet its production goals, creating displays and merchandising, ensuring cash is handled per policy, exceeding customer and donor expectations, and exceeding the stores budgeted financial performance. This is not like other retail jobs. Sure, we work 40 hours per week like other managers and we are open 7 days a week. But, our products are gently donated items. Items which come in bags, boxes, totes, and in pieces. Items that need to be unpacked, sorted, priced, and displayed. It’s messy. It’s dusty. It can be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The Store Manager needs to trust you to proactively address situations and resolve them. Thinking ahead and prioritizing are crucial skills here. Supporting the mission is a complex job, but you will get a sense of fulfillment like no other. Most importantly, you will get to be a part of a company that is committed to improving our local communities.

Starting pay at $11.50 per hour with an opportunity to bonus each month the store reaches its revenue goal

Qualifications:

Training Experience: Two of retail experience with at least six months supervisory experience. High School Diploma, GED Some college preferred.
License or Certificate: Valid state driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation that is required regularly for company business
Physical/Sensory Demands: Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 40 pounds.Must be able to stand, bend, and reach for the duration of your shift. Ability to work outdoors when necessary with exposure to weather conditions. Have a grasp of the English language with basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills
